Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States under a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company intending to announce complete information via its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Prior news suggested the company was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the organization employed about 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond on the matter.
